Exhibit Fabrication
During my Fabrication internship at the Minnesota Children’s Museum, I worked on various projects including components of the summer exhibit, Monster’s on Summer Vacation. This included building obstacle course components, walls, benches, and painting. I also worked on other smaller projects throughout the museum, including redesigning a children’s cash register and components for the studio renovation.

The wavy walk is one piece of the obstacle course for the Monsters on Summer Vacation exhibit which will be on display Summer 2024.

Cash Register Redesign (In Progress)
The children’s cash registers throughout the museum are based on classic cash registers, and only accept ‘cash’ as a form of payment. Today’s cash registers in stores feature credit card terminals and many have touch screens.
I observed children using the existing cash registers in the museum, and noticed not many children playing with the cash registers. The children that did, played longer when there was a second person playing with them.
